The Timmins Symphony Orchestra (TSO), established in 1979, is the largest performing arts organization in northeastern Ontario. We feature an orchestra, chorus, music school, band, string ensembles, and many outreach programs. We have professional musicians and teachers, while most members are volunteers from Timmins and the surrounding communities. The orchestra performs five main series and three chamber concerts each year, with additional concerts and events within our communities. Our music school provides lessons, ensembles, performance opportunities for students, and a summer camp.
Community participation and involvement is an important part of the TSO mandate. Through visits to schools, retirement residences and working together with other organizations, the TSO brings our love of music to Timmins and its surrounding communities. As a founding member of the Independent Arts Council for Timmins (IACT) the TSO provides quality and value in our society, and the support for art and cultural development in our region.
The Timmins Symphony Orchestra and Chorus is inviting volunteers to participate and support with us the cultural community of Timmins and of the surrounding communities. By volunteering with the Timmins Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, you will be part of the people that participates in enriching the social and cultural fabric of your community,
